Hello,

     I decided that for my final project I would do the I-Search paper. For my paper I had to create a question that I wanted to find the answer to. My research question is, what are the causes of nightmares in children? I decided to focus on this question because I am a Social Work major and I am currently in intern in the field. I have the opportunity work with children that many times have this problem and when parents would ask me the causes I had no clue on what to answer.

     With my search I found out that Nightmares on children can be caused by genetic factors, personality, stress, and trauma. I was also able to find solutions, like different types of therapy for different type of causes. All this information I was able to find it in the library database. It gave me a variety of articles and I was able to look in different fields. I was also able to find information in the libraries books. I went to the help desk and the librarian very nicely helped me with my search. 

     Looking back when I started the project, I wished I would have decided on my question earlier. I think I would have had more time to research. I also think that if I would have known a little more about the subject earlier, I would have had the opportunity to go more in depth with the subject. I also would have liked to interview a therapist that is familiar with children’s nightmares. I think that would have helped me understand everything much better.
